Norman M. Rich, MD, FACS, DMCC

A true pioneer, Dr. Norman Rich has dedicated his career to the advancement of venous medicine. The registry of war-time injuries he established from the soldiers he treated in Vietnam has translated into knowledge and techniques used in emergency medicine and trauma surgery today. He has written text books, scientific papers and been invited to speak worldwide.

The respect he has earned is evidenced by the two Departments of Surgery named in his honor at different institutions, and the long list of award he has received over the years. The AVF adds to that list by bestowing him with the 2011 Founder's Award.
